Freshford Equestrian Centre
Freshford Equestrian Centre and the non-horse side of the business (Freshford Station) has been actively engaging in sustainable land development and catchment planning with Greening Australia.
We hopefully have two new projects (riparian plantings and understorey plantings) for next year, following on from the erosion control projects and restoration plantings (30,000 + trees to date). Once GA have advised us of the outcome we will be keen to seek input on how to implement them. We are also talking to GA/Yarralumla nursery/Aranda nursery about native plant propagation for other than tree species.
Freshford is lucky to have a number of native shrub and grass seed crops that have potential to supply ACT based gene stock for local ecological programs so setting up the nursery, propagation areas etc is all on the plan for 2008 and we would welcome any help.
Its going to be a busy year.
