Waterwatch Programs
Waterwatch Programs for Students and Community Groups
Waterwatch currently offers four programs to primary and secondary teachers in the Southern ACT as well as to interested community groups. Programs are free, hands-on in the field activities lasting roughly one hour in length.
Classes are booked on a first come first serve basis.
Specially developed programs can be created if adequate time is available.

Drain Stenciling
Uses a drain stenciling project as a route to learning about the community’s intimate connection to their catchment.
Riparian Zone Assessment
Learn how to use scientifically valid techniques to assess riparian zone health and then plan strategies to improve the site based on their research.
Water Quality Assessment
Using techniques practiced throughout the country, learn how to assess the physical and chemical status of a waterway and explore the ramifications of their research.
Macro-invertebrate Survey
Learn to evaluate water quality based on the capture and identification of aquatic insects and use them to assess the long term health of the waterway.
